Further details

Surely Britain is well known for its delectable cuisine? Not according to Morgan Spurlock.

In the second episode of New Britannia, the American documentary maker gives you a taste of how people view the food Britain is best known for. The roast dinner, mustard and the pork pie are obvious winners, but what about the controversial Marmite? Apparently even Burger King looks down at the UK with disgust.

Spurlock visits Bury to try his hand at making the ominous Black Pudding, while also wowing the locals with some of America's 'famous' recipes. And he is joined in the studio by comedians Dave Gorman and Diane Smith and one of Britain's best-loved cooks, Jamie Oliver, to tear into British diets, oversee a transatlantic eating challenge and attempt to guess the mystery meals blended into stomach-churning soups.
