Your most underrated TV shows

Five classics that never got the kudos they deserved, according to our readers. Includes Money Dust, Nathan Barley, Early Doors and Families at War.

James Welsh, The Guardian, 3rd August 2016

Seriously dark. Subversive. Unsettling. Taboo-breaking. BBC Three's Monkey Dust was a hidden comedy gem that aired for 18 episodes, before it was sadly called to a halt following the death of co-creator Harry Thompson. If fellow writer Shaun Pye could get a team together for one more episode, we'd love to see it.

Alex Fletcher, Digital Spy, 8th February 2013

Your next box set: Monkey Dust

A dark and depraved comic look at broken Britain first aired on BBC3 in 2003.

Daniel Bettridge, The Guardian, 21st February 2012

It's a sad state of affairs when one-joke series like this [Directors Commentary] and Monkey Dust get hailed as 'comic genius' simply on account of feeling vaguely 'new' (as opposed to, y'know, 'funny').

Charlie Brooker, The Guardian, 14th February 2004

Monkey Dust, the "edgy", wholly animated League of Gentlemen rip-off, looks fabulous, despite having gags as dated as babies secretly thinking vile things.

Caitlin Moran, The Times, 14th February 2003
