British Comedy Guide, 30th October 2020TV review: Mister Winner series 1 episode 6
I really don't want to be too harsh on the show, there's nothing intrinsically wrong with it, but it repeatedly takes a scenario which could lead to amusement but then just doesn't do anything that funny or inventive with it. While normally I'd hope that a second series might resolve the problems the first had but it seems a deliberate choice to be such a mundane affair, so in this case I hope it isn't given one and the cast go on to bigger and far better things instead.

Carol Midgley, The Times, 26th March 2020TV review: Mister Winner, series 1 episode 1
Given how much of a fan I am of Spencer and Pearman I will watch at least one more episode, but if it wasn't for the talented cast then I'm not sure I'd bother.
Alex Finch, Comedy To Watch, 26th March 2020TV review: Mister Winner, BBC Two
Comedy fans who have seen Jones onstage or enjoyed Clunkerdunk may be surprised by this. There is no laugh track or studio laughter giving it a slightly flat feel. But Jones is great and is always watchable, even when you can see the punchlines coming a miles off. It just seems like an odd fit for someone who is so imaginative, creative and talented.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 25th March 2020Mister Winner, episode 1 review
Spencer Jones is one of the funniest, most inventive comedians to have emerged in recent years - which is why it's so disappointing to see him in this most lukewarm of sitcoms. It's like putting Lewis Hamilton behind the wheel of a Reliant Robin.
