Alec is persuaded by Zoë to give careers talk at school about being a solicitor.
Further details
Alec is persuaded by Zoë to give careers talk at school about being a solicitor. Alec reluctantly agrees but soon has a crisis on his hands when Jamie announces he wants to leave the profession. Alec is disappointed, upset and angry with Jamie for giving in so easily, just because he isn't dealing with big cases every day like Perry Mason. Zoë persuades Jamie to attend Alec's talk.
Alec, on seeing Jamie at the back of the hall, gives a different speech to his original and says that being a solicitor is dull, sometimes very dull but the reason he does it is because he is doing something for his community and even though what he does is usually very small it does make a difference and that is what makes it worthwhile. Alec's talk may not have enticed any of the kids into the law but it certainly gets Jamie back into it. Father and Son make up.
