Further details

Jamie is living back with Alec and Zoë whilst he recovers from his operation. He is rather worried however at the fact he is developing feelings for Zoë. He hides it from Alec by pretending its Hilary he's fallen for - he spends the next few days complimenting Hilary at every opportunity and constantly flirting with her causing both Miss Flood and Hilary to worry.

Zoë meanwhile has news for Alec. She is pregnant. Alec is delighted at the thought of being a father again even in his 50's. Hilary meanwhile, missing Anthony and spurred on by Jamie, heads off to Newcastle to see him. She returns to the office later however with Anthony in tow and news that they are engaged. Miss Flood is devastated.

Alec announces to Jamie that Zoë is pregnant which turns out to be just the thing to cure his feelings for her. Alec and Zoë head off to visit his mother in Scotland for her birthday and to tell her the good news. On the way however Zoë takes them on a detour to Gretna Green announcing to Alec that they are eloping. Alec is shocked at the spontaneity but delighted.
