Further details

Alec invites Zoë to his house for dinner. Before she arrives however Miss Flood turns up wanting to ask Alec's advice on what he thinks about work place relationships. Alec at first misconstrues what she is saying and thinks she is talking about them. In fact she is talking about Miles and Hilary. Apparently Miles has invited Hilary to spend the weekend at his cottage in the Cotswolds. Alec promises to have a word with Miles about it.

Alec and Zoë have a pleasant evening but Zoë seems rather uneasy in Alec's house, as there are too many memories of Alec's late wife Jenny. At the office the next day Miss Flood learns that in fact Miles has lent his cottage to Hilary and her boyfriend Derek for the weekend and not planning a dirty weekend for the two of them. She manages to stop Alec before he confronts Miles about the whole thing.

Alec discusses his problem with Zoë with Miles who suggests he take her away to a hotel. Alec decides to do this and Zoë agrees. On the way however Zoë falls asleep and Alec changes his mind and drives home. When they get there however they find Jamie who had told Alec he was going away for the weekend is there with his girlfriend. Alec and Zoë make their excuses and head for the all night cinema.
