Further details
The Starlings are househunting. George is inclined to feel that the outback begins at Battersea, but Kate likes the idea of a little suburban nest.
George wants a flat in town - where all the fun is - but Kate isn't keen on this. She has already begun to envisage a niche for herself in House and Gardens.
Both see the heart's desire advertised in the evening paper and each makes a gloomy tour of the other's favoured property. Naturally a family divided against itself is not in a good negotiating position.
