Limmy's Show to return for final special
Limmy's Show!, Brian Limond's BBC Scotland sketch series, is to return for a final special at Christmas, potentially alongside new Rab C Nesbitt.
British Comedy Guide, 22nd September 2013Alternating between whimsical and excoriating, Brian Limond's Glasgow-set sketch show has proved one of the most consistently enjoyable British comedies of recent years. A shame, then, that its three series have been tucked away on BBC2 Scotland rather than aired to a wider audience. Hopefully, we'll see more of him in the wake of this BBC3 highlights package, which provides an introduction to the likes of downwardly mobile dreamer Dee Dee and thwarted adventure gameshow host Falconhoof.
Gwilym Mumford, The Guardian, 17th June 2013Limmy's Show: an appreciation
As BBC Three airs The Best of Limmy's Show tonight, find out why Scotland's comic champion is well worth your time...
Jake Laverde, Den Of Geek, 17th June 2013In praise of ... Limmy
Brian Limond's absurdist comedy is acerbic, sometimes puerile, but never cruel.
The Guardian, 6th January 2013Why is this fine comedy broadcast only in Scotland?
It's the funniest British sketch comedy in years. So why doesn't the BBC give it a slot in its UK-wide schedules?
Paul Whitelaw, The Guardian, 23rd November 2012The most blisteringly original sketch show on television - the BBC seems to think it's too rich for English blood - returns for a third series. Brian Limond, the star, writer and director, goes to places other sketch shows would shy away from even if they knew they were there. Can his unsympathetic showbiz psychic, Raymond Day, top the series two sketch where he told a grieving father he'd switched off his son's life support a day too early?
What out-of-character monologues will Limond deliver to make you laugh and nag your psyche in equal measure for days afterwards? Gird yourself and find out. Limond is a one-off.
Jack Seale, Radio Times, 12th November 2012Limmy on how nothing is funnier than unhappiness
When Brian Limond was 15 and on holiday in Millport, he got drunk, became upset over a girl and slashed one his wrists with a broken bottle of Merrydown cider.
Peter Ross, The Scotsman, 10th November 2012Confessions of an internet troll
There's a witch-hunt going on against internet trolls right now. But, argues Scots funnyman Limmy, randomly goading atheists, jocks and non-existent techno geeks can be fun.
Brian Limond, The Guardian, 9th November 2012Limmy admits he gets hurt when people don't get humour
There was a time when Brian Limond felt so hopeless, he wouldn't have considered himself worth two bob, let alone a TV show. A decade later, he has three TV series under his belt and a shiny statuette to help convince him otherwise.
Paul English, Daily Record, 9th November 2012Limmy sorry over 'Die Now' tweets
Scottish comedian Limmy has backtracked over a series of aggressive Tweets against Margaret Thatcher and the Royal Family, after they sparked calls for him to be sacked by the BBC.
