A chance to see the comedian Lee Evans's performance at the 20,000-seat O2 Arena in London, during his "Big" tour of the UK. The O2 is a staggeringly big venue for a comedian to command single-handedly but Evans fills the space impressively.
Robert Collins, The Telegraph, 18th July 2009You wouldn't think little Lee would still need to continue touring after playing some of the largest-ever comedy dates, including a world record stand-up audience of 10,108 in Manchester back in 2005, but the sad truth is that the ingenious comic needs the cash. Even the hefty profits can't compete with the amount Lee spends on towels to mop up his torrents of sweat which, as you'll see in this superb 2008 show at the O2, could flood the Gobi.
