When they re-connect through the internet 60 years later, they discover feelings for one another that just might have blossomed all those years ago...
Their lives have moved on and both Alan and Celia now have daughters, whose lives bring drama at every turn. Celia's daughter Caroline (Sarah Lancashire) is a career-focused head teacher, and Alan's daughter Gillian (Nicola Walker) is a hard-working farmer.
As secrets and surprises from the past come tumbling out and family members adjust to changing relationships, can Alan and Celia find the long awaited happiness they deserve?
