Alan meets Muriel, Celia's sister after Celia reluctantly invites her to their wedding blessing. Alan learns that bad feeling over Muriel's husband created distance between the siblings, but he's not about to let the past get in the way of the present. Surely the two sisters can put their differences aside in light of such a happy day?

At school, Kate tells Caroline that she'd like to know her maternity options as a teacher - she's 12 weeks pregnant. Caroline's taken aback by the news and in Kate's presence, manages to keep her emotions in check. John also has news: Judith is in the early stages of pregnancy. It's another blow to Caroline who is drifting into an increasingly lonely state, especially with William leaving for University.

Caroline and Gillian offer to help with the wedding plans, and visit a possible venue. As they've been sampling the wine menu all day, Caroline's too drunk to drive home, so she stays at the farm. Gillian relaxes and before she knows it, she tells Caroline the shocking truth about Eddie's death. How will Caroline take the news and will she be able to keep Gillian's secret?
