Kidz Time TV - a children's television show - is on the brink of cancellation after presenter Lola swears live on air having been ambushed by a guest's dog. Sacked without compensation, Lola suffers a breakdown and attempts to salvage her job by breaking onto set and hijacking the next live transmission of Kidz Time TV.

Laura, the shows producer, starts to feel the pressure of her secret affair with married boss Mike Callen when the show see's the arrival of a new writer, the very handsome Ben. Cindy the make-up artist schemes to get Lola the compensation she deserves, but it could come at the expense of someone she cares about.

Meanwhile Laura auditions some quirky characters to be the new female presenter of Kidz Time TV. The successful candidate brings with her the promise of change and puts pressure on her already strained relationship with Mike.
