The blurb for Jimmy Carr's sixth DVD released in 2010 claimed that it contained "two hours of material that's too rude for TV".

So well done to them for sifting out 60 minutes that's just rude enough for Channel 4.

Joke machine Carr rattles out the one-liners live on-stage in Glasgow, following the 8 Out of Ten Cats double-bill at 9pm.

Jane Simon, The Mirror, 25th November 2011

For a night of razor-sharp one-liners, you can do far worse than Jimmy Carr, who can be seen here performing at the SECC Glasgow on his latest tour. Expect gags on obesity, homosexuality, abuse and disability - Carr takes no prisoners.

Sharon Lougher, Metro, 25th November 2011

Jimmy Carr (he's the Carr with slicked-down hair and strangely shiny skin) recorded onstage in Glasgow during his latest tour. There's no denying he's a master of the one-liner and the smart put-down, but he also likes to go close to the knuckle. Jimmy Carr: Making People Wince could be an alternative title for parts of his act.

Terry Ramsey, The Telegraph, 24th November 2011

Say what you like about Jimmy Carr, but underestimate his gagmanship at your peril. While his filthy live material is sometimes aligned with that of Frankie Boyle, Carr has a cartoonish quality lacking Boyle's mean-spiritedness, and comes out looking rather spruce. This lengthy and highly polished set was recorded at the Glasgow leg of his Making People Laugh tour, and he does, preaching to a stadium crowd of the converted with a relentless torrent of rudeness while skilfully disarming an equally relentless torrent of hecklers.

Ben Arnold, The Guardian, 24th November 2011
