Inside No. 9, Series 7, Episode 2, Mr. King
Before it takes a week's break, this week's Inside No. 9 leaves you with a potentially troubled night of warped dreams and fearful thoughts. Because make no mistake, Episode 2 of Series 7, entitled "Mr. King" is a truly disturbing offering from the dark comedy masters, and an excellent piece of misdirection.
Jack Bottomley, Starburst Magazine, 28th April 2022Inside No. 9 7.2 review: Mr King
The episode raises numerous questions as it goes along, leading you down several garden paths at once, before pulling the rug out from under you.

A few days ago Inside No. 9 co-star/co-creator Reece Shearsmith posted this message on Twitter: "I've read a lot of previews that ruin the up and coming episodes ... they just can't seem to help themselves. So if you want our stories to have maximum effect.. I would say don't read anything in advance." So there you have it from one of the people behind the series. Watch the programme, don't read the advance press.

Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 20th April 2022Inside No. 9: Merrily Merrily review
New series of Inside No. 9 often kick off on a lightish tone, a gentle palate-cleanser for knottier or more chilling plots further down the line. But Merrily, Merrily strikes a melancholic note as three old university pals reunite after 30-odd years for a nostalgic trip on an eerily empty lake.
Chortle, 20th April 2022Inside No. 9, BBC2, review
"Merrily, Merrily" lacked Pemberton and Shearsmith's usual emotional punch.
