TV review, Inside No. 9: Mr King, BBC Two
A few days ago Inside No. 9 co-star/co-creator Reece Shearsmith posted this message on Twitter: "I've read a lot of previews that ruin the up and coming episodes ... they just can't seem to help themselves. So if you want our stories to have maximum effect.. I would say don't read anything in advance." So there you have it from one of the people behind the series. Watch the programme, don't read the advance press.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 27th April 2022Inside No. 9 series 7 episode 2 review: Mr King
Inside No. 9 offers a modern take on a longstanding tradition in the delightfully sinister 'Mr King'.
Louisa Mellor, Den Of Geek, 27th April 2022Inside No. 9 review
The League Of Gentlemen are comedy's Rolling Stones. They'll still be doing reunions in their 80s.
Christopher Stevens, Daily Mail, 21st April 2022Inside No. 9 series 7 episode 1 Review: Merrily, Merrily
Inside No. 9 is back with Mark Gatiss and Diane Morgan guest-starring in a poignant reunion episode that, as ever, takes a few surprising turns.

Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton's show is still morbidly entertaining.

It certainly floats my boat.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 20th April 2022Inside No. 9: Merrily Merrily review
New series of Inside No. 9 often kick off on a lightish tone, a gentle palate-cleanser for knottier or more chilling plots further down the line. But Merrily, Merrily strikes a melancholic note as three old university pals reunite after 30-odd years for a nostalgic trip on an eerily empty lake.
Chortle, 20th April 2022Inside No. 9, BBC2, review
"Merrily, Merrily" lacked Pemberton and Shearsmith's usual emotional punch.
Emily Baker, i Newspaper, 20th April 2022Inside No. 9 7.1 review: Merrily, Merrily
And we're back! Series seven of the UKs most original TV show returns with an uneven episode that nonetheless feels like we're reconnecting with an old friend, perhaps more than any other instalment.
Nick Bartlett, Critical Popcorn, 20th April 2022Inside No. 9 review
It didn't disappoint. Well OK, the ending did a smidgin because I'd guessed the twist, but as a metaphor for Mark Gatiss, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, who became a trio after meeting as students at Bretton Hall college in Yorkshire, it was exquisite.
