Sam is dating cool singer-songwriter Jackson, reawakening Don's hitherto unspoken ambition to be a musician. Much to Sam's dismay, Jackson invites Don to play at his open mic night and an instant rivalry begins between the two singers.
Luckily for Don, there's Eddie, his Nan's former carer, who now caters to Don's every need. As well as cutting up his food and wiping his nose, Eddie's skills include helping Don to find a new lodger, in the shape of savvy mature student Sam. Fortunately, not even Don's lamentable social skills could put her off with a rent that cheap...
