Ellie, Hannah, Shoo and Josie decide to leave Hope Springs. However, as they have no money or passports, they determine that they must steal other people's identities.

Egged on by Ann Marie, Gil confronts Ellie about her true identity but she throws him off the scent by claiming they're battered women who have came to Hope Springs to escape their violent pasts. Ann Marie is not convinced but Gil believes his fiancee is just jealous of the feisty newcomer. Little does he know she has an unhealthy alliance with Euan.

Meanwhile, in search of a dead person's identity, Hannah's goes to the local graveyard and meets a very sombre Ina visiting the grave of her twin sister, Alison. It looks as though Hannah may have found her doppelganger and a new passport opportunity.

Ellie, Shoo and Josie visit a cash-and-carry supermarket to put their passport plans into action, scouring the aisles in search of look-alikes. Ellie spots her double but has to implement an elaborate plan to get her hands on the passport, while Josie and Shoo decide to "borrow" the identities of two holiday-makers staying at the hotel.

In an attempt to steal Alison's passport, Hannah visits Ina at home but is distracted from her task after noticing a bruise on Ina's face. Concerned and angry, Hannah reveals she suffered domestic abuse but an anxious Ina denies that Euan is guilty, saying he's a good husband. Hannah's instincts, however, tell her otherwise...

As the girls prepare to make their long-awaited getaway, doubts arise. Shoo realises she's falling in love with Dean; Ellie shares an unexpected moment of weakness with Gil; and Hannah scuppers their escape plans by announcing she won't leave Ina while she's in need.

Events then take a dramatic turn after Sadie makes a startling discovery, forcing the girls to take drastic action.
