Sarah's dad, Ben, turns up in Hebburn. He's left his wife, Susan, but wonders if independence really is worth fighting for. Vicki is executive producing Gervaise's album in the recording studio and she enlists Lindsay's help, which only makes her crooning boyfriend sick with jealousy.
Joe's showing romantic signs of recovery and Pauline's cupcake business is on the up too. Jack knows it's time to come clean to Sarah about the book, his pregnancy diary from a man's point of view, but can't quite get the words out.
