Jamie Dornan, Julie Walters and Stephen Mangan are the guests. And in a way, that's all we need to know. Already, the conjunction of those names lets us picture the fireworks of conversation that could spark from placing those characters in a room (OK, studio) together. And we know, if there are fireworks to be had, Norton will light every touchpaper.

Dornan appears soon in the film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey while Mangan will be in a Sky Arts drama playing a pregnant man. See? Fireworks right there.

Graham Norton: Straight people find their love easier

The openly gay chat show host, fresh from extending his multi-million pound contract with the BBC, says he would find it easier to hold down a relationship if he was straight.

The last time Cameron Diaz was on The Graham Norton Show he slightly lost his grip. Give Diaz an inch and she'll launch into one of her daffy monologues about dating or - as happened last time - what you might describe as women's personal grooming.

On that occasion she had Richard Ayoade quietly dying next to her; this time Ricky Gervais and Ben Stiller will be on hand, partly to publicise their latest Night at the Museum movie and partly to keep La Diaz in check. Her co-star in the Annie remake, Jamie Foxx, is also squeezing onto the sofa, as is EastEnders' Danny Dyer and Australian comic actress Rebel Wilson. It's quite a line-up.

Michael Keaton has never really found a movie role to equal that of Batman, so it's almost a case of art imitating life in his new film Birdman. In it he plays an actor who found fame playing a superhero, but who subsequently hasn't been taken seriously by critics or audiences.

Although Keaton understandably denies any comparison between this role and his experiences as the Dark Knight, we can expect the conversation to wade into the deep waters of existential crises and deconstruction of the ego. No doubt lightening the mood are Graham's other guests: Jamie Oliver and One Direction, who'll be performing their new single Night Changes.

The trailer for the new film about Paddington, the duffel-coat-wearing bear from darkest Peru with a love of marmalade sandwiches, has already irked purists who fear Michael Bond's much-loved children's book character has been "Harry Pottered".

But the film's starry cast have no such worries, and three of them - Nicole Kidman, Julie Walters and Hugh Bonneville - cosy up on Graham Norton's sofa tonight to explain why they were keen to take part and how they believe "the spirit of the books has been preserved, while embracing some of the issues of the present day". Quite how a villainous Cruella de Vil-style taxidermist who wants the bear to be stuffed and mounted fits into that description remains to be seen. There's also music from Take That, who've slimmed down to a three-piece.

Certain glossy magazines just can't stop speculating about Jennifer Aniston's love life. Oh, poor Jen, they wonder, will she ever find happiness after Brad Pitt? Is she still engaged to Justin Theroux? When are they going to marry? Is he scared of commitment? Is this really anyone's business?

So how far will Graham Norton go tonight when Aniston perches on the sofa with Jason Bateman to discuss their new film, Horrible Bosses 2? The frenzy that constantly surrounds Aniston's romantic life has always fogged the fact that she's an estimable light comic actress. Sadly, she's made some rubbish films since Friends ended, and judging by its trailer, Horrible Bosses 2 won't be a twinkling diamond on her CV.

Making a return visit is the mighty Dame Judi Dench, who'll be talking about her book, Behind the Scenes, and Olly Murs will sing his new single.

Oscar-winners Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway are on the sofa tonight to discuss their latest film: Interstellar, a space adventure of galactic proportions (it's nearly three hours long). Unlike in, respectively, Dallas Buyers Club and Les Misérables, their roles in this didn't require them to crash-diet - just to save an environmentally devastated Earth by travelling through a wormhole in space to find humankind a new home.

Hopefully making us feel less paranoid about the future are Graham's other guests - Lena Dunham, the creator of cult show Girls, and comedian Micky Flanagan.

By my count, Miranda Hart has been on Graham Norton's show five times before, so if she has any self-deprecating anecdotes about awkward slapstick moments that she hasn't already shared, she will roll them out tonight. She shares the sofa with Timothy Spall, whose latest performance is as painter JMW Turner in Mike Leigh's biopic. Maroon 5 provide the music.

Considering he's possibly the world's most charming man, Stephen Fry is never too far away from controversy. The publication of the third volume of his memoirs, More Fool Me, was accompanied by a racket as some readers and commentators demanded he be retrospectively prosecuted for his acknowledged cocaine use in the 1980s.

But Fry was determined to tell what he's described as the "ugly truth" about his drug-taking past that even saw him snorting cocaine during a reception at Buckingham Palace. "I was an imbecile, an idiot, I got caught up in a ridiculous dependency," he told Huw Edwards recently.

Another man who's had his own monumental battles with addiction, Robert Downey Jr, joins Fry and Oscar-winning Robert Duvall on the Norton sofa.
