Further details
Talking about playing a sexy cat in Puss in Boots, Antonio Banderas says: "It is odd. I came to America without speaking the language when I was 31 so the fact they call me just for the use of my voice is weird." And, complimented on his good looks, he says, "It doesn't matter how good looking I am, I am now doing a cat!"
And on getting his first job in America, he says, "I went to London to meet the director and I could not speak English, he was talking to me and I didn't understand a thing so I said, 'Yes, yes,' and then eventually something more complicated like, 'Of course' and then I learnt a line that was the key to my career, I said 'I can do that,' and he actually believed it."
Talking about a recent fundraiser he hosted for Barack Obama in his home, he says, "It makes me laugh as it's not something you do every day. The whole family had code names for the secret service security. I was 'Zorro' - it could have been worse, I could have been 'Puss!'"
Demonstrating his swashbuckling skills, Antonio gives Graham a lesson in the finer points of swordsmanship and shows off some fancy footwork. After explaining that he trained for four months with the Spanish Olympic team, Antonio is interrupted by Salma Hayek who teasingly says, "Oh come on. It's so annoying - he has to be so good at everything. He is brilliant at everything."
Describing her character Kitty Softpaws in Puss in Boots as "Saucy and cheeky," Salma says, "I found it hard to pronounce her name. I called her 'Kitty Soft Porn.'" Revealing she got also into lots of trouble trying to pronounce the title of the film, rendering it almost pornographic, she says, "It was difficult at first, but now I am used to the words."
Talking about not speaking the language when she arrived in the US, she says, "I spoke shopping English, 'Small', 'medium', 'blue', red'" And reveals, "I was upset by one review because it said, 'Salma Hayek, bombshell' and I thought they meant the movie bombed because it was so bad."
And on being married to a Frenchman, Salma says, "I speak really, really bad French. My parents sent me to Paris to learn and then I found out I had to go to the Sorbonne for eight hours straight for private lessons through the summer. At aged 17 that is terrible so I lied and told them my teacher had died and that there were no replacements."
Unbelievably, with such a great physique, Salma reveals that she was once insecure about her looks, "I was the youngest in class and all these girls were starting to get them (breasts) and I wasn't getting anything - I was really scared. I was getting teased a lot because everyone was older and I was the skinny tomboy." Explaining what she did, she says, "I went to a church that had a saint that was supposed to do a lot of miracles, I put my hands in the holy water and went (she demonstrates by holding her breasts), 'Please Jesus give me some boobs.'"
Chris Martin joins the other guests for a chat and describing how his duet with Rihanna came about, says, "I went to visit her and sat down with a piano and said, 'I have this song,' I was very English about it and it took me about 20 minutes to ask the question and I just played it and she was like, 'Okay.'" Modestly he adds, "I had never done a duet before so it was a bit of a risk but it doesn't sound that bad."
Asked by Salma if he dances, he says, "I dance in a strange hopping English way - it's not technically dancing - it's more like some kind of fit. I'm not cool."
Coldplay perform Paradise live in the studio.
