Talking about ageing and recalling some confusion with a recent film offer, Mark Wahlberg says, "I got this call from my agent saying Paramount had a movie that they wanted me to do with a young guy and an older guy. I had just played golf with Jack Nicholson and I thought I'll ask him to play the part and if he doesn't want it, then maybe Gene Hackman. I'm thinking of all these great guys I could do the movie with, but then I get the call to say, 'What do you think about Garrett Hedlund', and I ask 'For what?' and they say, 'The young guy,' so I say 'Then who am I going to play?' and I just started laughing. I appreciate I made it because there were some dodgy years when I was younger so to have made it to 40 is an accomplishment. But I didn't quite expect that."
He reveals, when he recently pitched an idea of a movie to a studio with Justin Bieber, "They bought it within three seconds of me mentioning his name. We are just waiting for the script and I think he is going to be very good. People say to me, 'You and Justin Bieber? What are you thinking?' But people used to say that about me when I was 'Marky Mark', but I was willing to do the work, one project at a time, hopefully surrounded by very talented people that I could learn from. And he wants to do it for all the right reasons."
Revealing his daughter was instrumental in the idea, Mark adds, "My daughter is eight years old and she wants me to take her to see people she likes. So I am already embarrassed that I have to go and meet Justin Bieber, and he is doing all these moves on the table and I go over and say, 'excuse me', and introduce myself. And he gives me the whole 'I'm too cool' bit and I'm like, 'Whoa', but you do anything for your kids. Now she absolutely hates Justin Bieber! And the reason she doesn't like him, is because Selena Gomez came into the picture."
Talking about her three year old son, Minnie Driver says, "He gives me advice. I was trying to put together one of his toys and it was taking an hour so I said to him, 'I'm really sorry Henry but I am getting very frustrated making this.' And he said, 'It's okay mummy, do you need a drink?' I was horrified."
Asked if she is about to move back to the UK, Minnie reveals, "I don't know, maybe. I would really like to." Citing her son as the reason, she says, "I would really like him to have part of his education here, because I had such a wicked time at school. But, my lovely house in Hollywood would probably buy a one bedroom flat in London - I might have been priced out of living here."
Mark reveals some extreme parenting where tattoos are concerned, "I realised afterwards that it's not going to work because my mother told me not to get a tattoo and cut to 20 years later and I am having them all removed by a laser procedure. It's very painful, so I took my kids on a couple of the appointments so they could see how much pain it was causing me. But they didn't care."
Much to Graham's horror, Mark describes the process, "I am getting them all removed at the same time so it's pretty bad. You smell the skin burning, the welts come up and they wrap you up like a mummy. After the first time, I'm like, 'I'm not going back.' But I've been 33 times now over three and half years." Asked why he is having them removed he says, "I got to 40 and thought, 'I don't want these tattoos now.'"
Revealing she has a rose tattooed on her bottom, Minnie says, "I narrowly avoided getting a leaping tiger with scratch marks and dripping blood. That's what my mate wanted me to get. It could have been so much worse and I am so lucky not to have that. I have a big rose. It's a proper stripper's tat and it didn't fade!"
Also, Mark Watson talks about being on tour, and Christina Perri performs Jar of Hearts live in the studio, before joining Graham for a chat. Talking about the Brits she says, "The whole Adele thing was pretty crazy. It took me a minute to calm down as I was crazed by it."
