Brian Donaldson, The List, 16th December 2020The 50 best TV shows of 2020: No 10 - Ghosts
Written by the Horrible Histories crew, this must-see supernatural comedy bears their stamp of absurdity - and is full of feelgood spirit.

British Comedy Guide, 8th November 2020As Mike and Alison prepare to attend her school reunion, Mike gets lost down a social media stalking hole and romantic poet Thomas recounts his demise in the 1820s. The other ghosts chip in with their own, highly subjective, versions and there's an enjoyable cameo to come for Stath Lets Flats fans.

Between the airing of Ghosts' hugely anticipated second series and the writing of its already-commissioned third, we were lucky enough to sit down for a chat with one of the creators, writers, and stars of the show, Ben Willbond (The Captain).

Irn-Bru's marketing team got into a lot of trouble by making jokes about someone with the name Fanny many years ago.
Stevie Gallacher, The Sunday Post, 29th September 2020Kiell Smith-Bynoe interview
The BBC sitcom Ghosts hinges on the spirited relationship between its two stars. Yet there's more to the man who plays Mike - including a novelty grime hit about chicken.
Stuart Jeffries, The Guardian, 28th September 2020Ghosts is back, and in even better form. This confection by the Horrible Histories team, but aimed firmly at an adult audience, with its tongue firmly in its cheek, is a dizzying - I dislike the word romp, but sadly there's no other - through the tale of one couple, one haunted castle, and their attempts to zhuzh it up as a prestige wedding venue despite the pesky presence of headless poets etc. Yup, I just used the words zhuzh, romp, prestige and pesky, and it says much about the quality that this caused me no pain. Sharp and smart, fast and fun, and horribly watchable.
Euan Ferguson, The Observer, 27th September 2020Ghosts review
It's laugh-out-loud funny, but they might as well have called it Are You Being Haunted?.
Christopher Stevens, Daily Mail, 22nd September 2020Ghosts review - silly family fun & boy do we need it
Ghosts returned for a second series in the saner pre-watershed slot of 8.30pm. I don't know what BBC One was thinking last time scheduling it at 9.30pm: it's hardly Fleabag. Plus if anyone can be trusted to do a decent double entendre that adults will get but kids probably won't, it is this fine and much-loved former Horrible Histories team.
