James plays George Russell, chauffeur to the aristocratic Colonel Maynard (John Le Mesurier). The Colonel has immense trouble in keeping a housekeeper, as the lecherous George can't keep his hands to himself. However, George might have met his match when the formidable Gabrielle Dragon (Peggy Mount) is hired.
