Sue Johnston and Anita Dobson devour the young in Ben Wheatley's gripping zombie drama.
Barbara Ellen, The Observer, 3rd November 2024Generation Z review
It's got a great cast - Johnny Vegas, Sue Johnston, T'Nia Miller and Downton Abbey's Rob-James Collier all appear - while everyone seems to be having a lot of fun, even while eating badgers or shooting elderly people with crossbows. Because those middle-aged characters are such wet lettuces, however, the 50-year-old viewer - I'm talking about me here - might not have such a good time.

Rachel Cooke, The New Statesman, 30th October 2024Generation Z review
Generation Z seems more thoughtful than many zombie offerings, as it steers clear of too many clichés of the genre, while the young side of the cast deliver convincing performances of believable characters, deeper than two-dimensional stereotypes.
Steve Bennett, Chortle, 28th October 2024Generation Z review
At times it feels as if Wheatley couldn't decide whether he was making a Black Mirror episode or a Shaun Of The Dead reboot but in the end that doesn't really matter - the result is a successful mix of both with a bit of social commentary thrown into the mix too.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 28th October 2024Generation Z review
Sue Johnston and Anita Dobson steal the show as the flesh-eating living dead in Channel 4's horror series by Ben Wheatley.

This fun zombie Brexit satire is like The Walking Dead's oddest spin-off yet.
