Juno Temple to star in spouse swap comedy The Husbands for Apple TV+

Ted Lasso star Juno Temple is to lead a new, London-set comedy drama for Apple TV+, about a woman whose attic generates an infinite number of husbands.
The Husbands is adapted from UK-based Australian writer and game designer Holly Gramazio's acclaimed debut novel of the same name, with the eight-part series employing playwright, Mammals and Succession scribe Miriam Battye as lead writer.
Temple plays Lauren in the comedy, who returns to her flat one night to be greeted by her husband, Michael. There's only one problem - she's never seen this man before in her life. As Lauren tries to puzzle out how she could be married to someone she can't remember meeting, Michael goes to the attic to change a lightbulb and abruptly disappears. In his place, a new husband emerges.
Realising that her attic is creating an infinite supply of husbands, Lauren confronts the question: If swapping lives is as easy as changing a lightbulb, how do you know you've taken the right path? When do you stop trying to do better and start actually living?
Predominantly shooting in the UK, The Husbands is directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Lars And The Real Girl), who executive produces alongside Battye and Annie Marter for their company Fortunate Jack Productions, with Gramazio, and A24.
The Husbands joins an expanding slate of television featuring British comedy acting talent being backed by A24 in this country, including Leo Reich's upcoming Channel 4 series It Gets Worse, Michaela Coel's drama First Day On Earth for the BBC, as well as the second series of Dreaming Whilst Black and Such Brave Girls for the BBC.
