A top comedian with an international following is joining Last One Laughing UK, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

The following story contains spoilers for the UK version of the Amazon Prime Video reality series, in which ten comics spend a day in a house together trying to make each other laugh, with each one that cracks eliminated until only one remains.

Look away now if you don't want to read storylines from the series, which launches on 20th March, and features Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper, Joe Lycett, Judi Love, Rob Beckett, Sara Pascoe, Lou Sanders, Joe Wilkinson, Harriet Kemsley and Richard Ayoade, all trying to make each other break, with Jimmy Carr hosting the six-part series, alongside special guest Roisin Conaty.

BCG can disclose that Nick Mohammed "swoops" onto the LOL set in the guise of his excitable alter-ego Mr Swallow. The Intelligence creator and Ted Lasso star tries out a psychic reading with Sanders, takes a turn at a Ouija board with Cooper and competes in a game of rock, paper, scissors with Kemsley.

Meanwhile, Alison Hammond also cameos, reuniting with her eponymous Rob Beckett's Smart TV co-star, as the This Morning host deploys her infectious laugh to try to defeat the comics.

The Last One Laughing format began life as a Japanese show entitled Documental, created by and starring Hitoshi Matsumoto, in which comedians staked their own money.

It has since spawned more than 20 international versions, including an Irish version hosted by Graham Norton, an Australian series presented by Rebel Wilson and a South Africa one fronted by Trevor Noah.

BCG exclusively revealed the UK version last year, with Carr commenting: "I'm thrilled to be making Last One Laughing UK with Prime Video. It's sure to deliver and if it doesn't, it will leave the fun with your neighbours.

"Usually when I make a TV show with 10 brilliant comics, I'm expecting everyone to have a bloody good laugh - but not in this series. The last one laughing wins. It's a great format and it's been a huge hit around the world. I can't wait to see who cracks up first."

An initial four episodes of LOL will launch on Prime Video on 20th March, with the final two episodes available from 27th March.
