Man Like Mobeen's final series now filming
Filming is underway on the fifth and final series of Guz Khan's sitcom Man Like Mobeen.
Six concluding episodes of the BBC comedy series are now being filmed in Coventry and Turkey, with first look photos revealed featuring Khan on set as lead character Mobeen, alongside Tolu Ogunmefun as Nate and Perry Fitzpatrick as Harper.
It's also confirmed that Salman Akhtar returns as Saj; Duaa Karim is back as Mobeen's younger sister, Aqsa; Mark Silcox reprises his role as the true OG, Uncle Shady; Korkmaz Arslan as Turkish barber Emre; and Hussina Raja as Mobeen's crush Nida.
The BBC says: "Following Series 4, one of BBC Three's most watched comedies last year, viewers were left reeling from the cliffhanger ending and pondering the fate of haphazard Mobeen after he was attacked in prison.
"Across the six new episodes, which will air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in 2025, the series promises an epic finale. Mobeen is back on the outside and reunited with the gang in Small Heath, before embarking on an epic adventure overseas, if Mobeen can get his hands on a plane ticket and a fake passport that is."
Guz Khan says: "Listen, please, this is very important to the sanctity and functionality of my life. I can't even shop in Aldi without someone popping out from behind the bread aisle and asking me when there's going to be more Man Like Mobeen. So for you, and only for you, here's one, final, very last, never to be done again season of Man Like Mobeen. P.S Please don't make me make any more, I got loads of kids to raise and that. Love you."
Tom Jordan from producers Tiger Aspect notes: "We're thrilled to be bringing Mobeen back to the screen. He has a lot of unfinished business, and this series aims to be the most ambitious and hilarious yet. Can't wait for audiences to see what we've got in store."
Jon Petrie, BBC Director of Comedy, comments: "Man Like Mobeen has been a comedy juggernaut for BBC Three, and saying goodbye is going to be tough for everyone. But as much as we don't want to, we've got to be grown-ups and accept it's the end. Guz Khan and Andy Milligan have crafted something truly special in these final scripts, and we're going out with a bang... even if keeping a straight face will be a challenge. It's the last series, but it's bigger and funnier than ever."
