Johnny Vegas and Lucy Beaumont have reunited for World's Most Dangerous Roads, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

Vegas, who became Beaumont's fictional stepdad in the Meet The Richardsons mockumentary series, after a storyline in which he married her real mother, Gill Adams, will be seen driving through Montenegro in the third series on U&Dave, airing in November.

"I can't believe I've such fond memories of being so bloody terrified at times" said Vegas. "I can only put it down to Lucy Beaumont's inexhaustible quirky humour under pressure and Montenegro's stunning variation of landscapes. Both tears of fear and laughter made it an unforgettable adventure of a lifetime."

Beaumont added: "I still can't believe I made in one piece; I must admit I didn't want to be on a dangerous road with Johnny driving, but I didn't want to leave either. What started out as a white-knuckle ride turned out to be a spiritual experience which cemented that me and Johnny will be lifelong friends"

Meanwhile, Babatunde Aléshé and Kae Kurd will also be shown traversing Zambia, while a third episode will feature Rhod Gilbert, who has visited both Nepal and Italy in the course of the BBC's original three series and last year's U&Dave revival, narrating a compilation of the show's best moments, in World's Most Dangerous Roads: Rhod Gilbert's Extra Mile.

"I absolutely loved taking part in World's Most Dangerous Roads" said Aléshé. "As someone of African heritage, this journey meant so much to me, especially to experience it with my good friend Kae."

Kurd agreed: "One of the best experiences of my life. Challenging, fun and eye-opening, and with a great companion too."

Three further episodes have also been recorded and are set to air next year.

World's Most Dangerous Roads is executive produced by Sandy Watson for Ricochet (The Data Doctor). It was commissioned for UKTV by Helen Nightingale, head of factual and factual entertainment, and ordered for U&Dave by Cherie Hall, channel director, and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning.
