Still Up axed after single series
Apple TV+ has reportedly opted not to renew Still Up, the comedy series starring Antonia Thomas and Craig Roberts.
Deadline reports that the series "was quietly shelved earlier this year".
Launched in September 2023, the eight-part series was written by Steve Burge and Natalie Walter. It followed the exploits of Lisa, an impulsive and free-spirited aspiring illustrator whose questions over her daughter's future start keeping her up at night, and the socially anxious yet gifted journalist Danny. The pair have no secrets, except their feelings for each other, and while the world sleeps they spend their long nights talking despite never meeting.
Thomas and Roberts appeared on screen separately, communicating via telephone and video chat. Blake Harrison, Luke Fetherston and Lois Chimimba also had regular roles on the show.
Apple declined to comment on the cancellation of the series. The streaming platform continues to make British comedy, with Series 4 of Trying its latest release.
As revealed in March, Craig Roberts is directing comedy-horror The Scurry, the feature screenwriting debut of The Mash Report creator Tim Telling. Roberts is reunited with Antonia Thomas on the project.
