Inside No. 9 to end on Series 9?
Reece Shearsmith is the guest on the latest episode of hit podcast RHLSTP With Richard Herring.
At the end of the interview, host Richard Herring asks him about the future of Inside No. 9, the comic BBC Two anthology series he co-writes with Steve Pemberton.
His response: "I think we'll get to nine and then we'll stop. We've got to stop at some point."
The BBC has already confirmed the commission of Series 8 and Series 9 of the show. The eighth run is due to begin filming shortly, with Shearsmith revealing earlier in the podcast that the standard medical test for insurance purposes that takes place for actors in the pre-production phase was scheduled for this week.
Shearsmith was appearing on RHLSTP to talk about See How They Run, the new British comedy film he features in. The 1950s-set crime caper is currently top of the box office.
The full 77 minute podcast sees the writer and actor also talking more about audiences' reactions to Inside No. 9, performing at the O2 with The League Of Gentlemen, owning a piece of The Wicker Man and being asked to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.
