Count Abdulla cancelled

ITV has said it will not be commissioning a second series of its new sitcom Count Abdulla.
Launched on ITVX in June 2023, and then repeated on ITV2 in January, Count Abdulla starred Arian Nik as Abdulla Khan, a mid-twenties British-Pakistani Muslim doctor stuck in an identity crisis, caught between his religious mother and his secular, hedonistic friends. But when Abdulla is bitten by a vampire (played by Jaime Winstone) he suddenly becomes the outsider's outsider.
The six-part comedy, which also featured Nina Wadia, Manpreet Bambra, Sia Alipour, Robert Eades, Demmy Ladipo and Rishi Nair, was created by up-and-coming writer Kaamil Shah.
An ITV spokesperson told TV Zone: "Count Abdulla sadly won't be returning for a second series, we'd like to thank the cast and crew for all their hard work in bringing [Count Abdulla] to our screens."
The six episodes are still available to watch on ITVX
