The Stand Up Sketch Show to return for Series 6
It's been confirmed that The Stand Up Sketch Show will return to ITV2 in 2024 for a sixth series.
Production company Spirit Studios is filming eight more half-hour episodes of the format in which comedians tell their best stand-up routines, and then those routines are recreated with actors.
The line-up for the new episodes has yet to be revealed but the producers say: "Expect ridiculous props, surreal pop culture references and surprise celebrity cameo appearances."
Explaining a new development, the producers say: "To further build on the series' long standing approach of supporting new and diverse comedy talent, The Stand Up Sketch Show will be offering up-and-coming comedians a paid set at their live stand-up nights. These development spots aim to create a pipeline for new talent, preparing the next generation of comedians for TV work. Participants will collaborate with the show's writers to develop their sets and have a headshot session with the show's photographer."
Executive producer Matt Campion says: "To get a second series these days is a huge achievement, so to be going into our sixth series of the show is an incredible privilege. It is also a testament to the amazing team and talent that work so hard to bring the funny to our screens year on year".
The stand-up segments of the new series will be recorded across five nights in February at Up The Creek in Greenwich. Free tickets
