Josh Widdicombe to voice CBeebies comedy Big Lizard
Big Lizard, an animated comedy adventure series coming to CBeebies in 2024, will feature a voice cast that includes Josh Widdicombe and Doctor Who star Mandip Gill.
52 episodes, each 7 minutes, are being produced of the format. The instalments follow a young astronaut called Cosima and a lizard, named Big Lizard. The aim of the show is to offer "light education" about science and prehistoric planet Earth to its young viewers.
The episodes, which were commissioned in collaboration with France Télévisions, will be distributed worldwide by Aardman. Production is being overseen by UK producers Beakus alongside Watch Next Media and Je Suis Bien Content in France.
Steve Smith, who co-created the show with director Amaël Isnard, says: "We are delighted to be partnering with such an amazing team to produce this brilliant, funny and unique show. Big Lizard has all the ingredients it needs to enchant audiences and parents alike."
Big Lizard is expected to debut on CBeebies in the autumn of 2024.
