Red Dwarf added to iPlayer
All the main series of Red Dwarf have been added to BBC iPlayer.
The collection includes the original BBC series, as well as most of the episodes made by Dave. The BBC confirms: "Red Dwarf hasn't been on the BBC since 2007, and the revived series has never been shown on the BBC before."
The corporation adds: "Lister, Rimmer, Cat, and Kryten are coming home, as beloved sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf returns to the BBC on iPlayer. Every episode of the show's classic run on the BBC is now available on iPlayer, as well as the acclaimed revived series including the recent feature length special The Promised Land, which originally aired on Dave."
Co-creator Doug Naylor posted on social media: "This is the first time ever all the shows have been available to watch at the same time in the same place. Let the Dwarf binge begin."
However, it is not quite the complete collection available. The BBC does not have the rights to show the three 2019 Back To Earth specials (later re-titled as Series IX).
In addition to Red Dwarf, the BBC has added Gimme Gimme Gimme to the platform today, and Mister Winner too.
The BBC's Dan McGolpin comments: "The strangest gang in space are back on the BBC - with classic episodes of Red Dwarf right from the very beginning touching down soon. Whatever makes you chuckle, there is a series waiting for you on BBC iPlayer."
