Brett Gelman's Entitled begins filming
Entitled, Channel 4's latest comedy drama, began filming on location in Manchester on Monday.
Co-commissioned with America's SHOWTIME network, the Two Brothers Pictures series stars Brett Gelman as a "conniving American widower" who must get to know his British wife's estranged, aristocratic family after her death, and finds himself in their crumbling gothic mansion in the English countryside. As Gabe's search for closure and truth reveal a newly inherited fortune, each family member's ambition comes to a head.
Producers tease that "the dark comedy sets to unravel our beliefs on privilege and prerogative, whilst delving into themes of grief, class, and greed".
An 8-part series, it was created and written by Matt Morgan (8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mister Winner, Very Important People, The Mimic). Tim Kirkby is directing.
Gelman is joined in the cast by Donald Sumpter (Bleak Moments, Game Of Thrones) as Quincy Beaucroft, the cold, hard-hearted Baron; Brendan Patricks (Mr. Sloane, Downton Abbey) as Aston Beaucroft, the oldest child, mentally and emotionally equipped for nothing; Pippa Bennett-Warner (Sick Note, Gangs Of London) as Xanthe Beaucroft, the adopted sister - witty, acerbic and guarded; Mark Quartley (Hoff The Record, Lucky Man) as Bart Beaucroft, the youngest sibling, agoraphobic and appearing child-like; Jonathan Livingstone (Peacock) as Neville, Gabe's self-serving lawyer and friend; Charlotte Louise Arrowsmith (This Is Going To Hurt) as Miss Whitby, the devoted housekeeper and keeper of secrets; and Kelly Wenham (Double Date, Merlin) as Elizabeth, Gabe's compassionate wife who is living a lie.
