Tony Robinson teases another Blackadder project
Tony Robinson has suggested a Blackadder linked TV project is in the works.
The Daily Mail reports the actor saying: "There is something new coming at some point in the next few months but I'm sworn to secrecy as to precisely what it is."
The star added: "All I can say is that it will be on TV, and it's something associated with Blackadder that viewers won't have seen before."
The news follows on from Robinson returning to his role as Baldrick earlier this month for a one-off sketch as part of Comic Relief. In character as the servant, he read out a Cinderella-inspired tale in the format of a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
Talking about the Red Nose Day appearance, he says: "I was swamped with love from the public after that, so I'm feeling very positive about the future."
Blackadder launched in 1983, and went on to run for four series and several specials. The last major outing for Rowan Atkinson and Robinson was in the 2000 special Blackadder Back & Forth. Since then, news of a fifth series is regularly mooted in the press, but the reports are then often denied by the stars and writers. In 2017 the sitcom topped a list of shows people would like to return.
