Jason Manford releasing BBC One stand-up special Recent Nostalgia
Jason Manford has shot a stand-up special for the BBC, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.
Recent Nostalgia will air on BBC One over the Christmas period on a yet-to-be-confirmed date and will then be available on iPlayer for a year.
A one-hour, filmed version of his current Like Me tour, it was recorded at Sheffield's City Hall at the end of September.
Reflecting on absurd moments from lockdown, his early days on the comedy circuit and why men aren't as clever as women think they are, the special culminates in his song Assembly Bangers, a dance track medley of religious songs sung in school assemblies down the decades, including This Light Little of Mine, He's Got the Whole World on His Hands, When I Needed a Neighbour, Lord of the Dance and Sing Hosanna.
Released as a charity single for The Trussell Trust last week, it briefly knocked Taylor Swift's Midnights off the top of the iTunes download chart.
