Paul Black brings a Hogmanay whodunnit spoof to BBC Scotland
TikTok star Paul Black has made a whodunnit parody for BBC Scotland.
The sketch comic has written, directed and stars in Paul Black's First Footing, airing on New Year's Eve as part of the corporation's festive programming north of the border.
The 30-minute crime comedy sees the Glaswegian comedian waking from a wild New Year's Eve with little memory of the night before, spent at his Mum's social club. When it's revealed that the prize money from the Annual New Year's Eve Karaoke Competition has gone missing Paul fears his good name and reputation are at stake.
Still Game's Maureen Carr, Limmy's Show's Paul McCole and Black's brother Mark are among the supporting cast, which also features Carl Spencer, Millie Graham, Cindy Awor, Kendra McPherson and Bartosz Kowalczyk.
Also airing over the holiday period, Scot Squad star Jack Docherty presents archive show Ooh The Banter, featuring clips of Elaine C Smith, Alex Norton, Karen Dunbar, Brian Cox, Lawrence Chaney, Forbes Masson, Alan Cumming and others beside.
There's also the return of sketch show Queen Of The New Year, with Greg Hemphill and Robert Florence mocking 2022 with the help of comedians Stephen Buchanan, Jamie MacDonald and Stuart McPherson, The Dolls stars Louise McCarthy and Gayle Telfer Stevens, Still Game's Matt Costello, plus McCole, Laura Lovemore, Martin Quinn and Elizabeth Caproni.
Alongside previously announced festive episodes of sitcoms Two Doors Down and The Scotts, the BBC will also be airing Breaking The News: The Best Of Unbroadcast on BBC Radio Scotland, featuring clips that didn't make the cut of its topical news quiz initially, and an annual round-up on television, Breaking The Year, on BBC Scotland, with host Des Clarke joined by comedians Karen Dunbar, Neil Delamere, Susie McCabe and Chris Forbes.
