French & Saunders have fizzed with comic brilliance for nearly four decades, and as part of Channel 5's Funny Women series, this documentary celebrates this award-winning duo. Featuring friends and co-stars including Jools Holland, Sarah Hadland, Christopher Biggins and Helen Lederer, this programme features their greatest moments.
Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are trailblazers, a double-act who started out in the famous Comic Strip troupe of the early 80s, before landing their own show on BBC, which ran for an astonishing twenty years.
From big budget movie spoofs to grubby old men to brilliant renditions of Abba, they created water-cooler moments in comedy. Brilliant together, they also had stunning solo careers, and made two of the biggest hit sitcoms of the 90s. Jennifer Saunders had an international hit with Absolutely Fabulous and Dawn French drew in ratings of more than 10 million with The Vicar Of Dibley. After their recent Christmas special reunion show, it's time to enjoy this dynamic duo all over again.
