Mary's reputation takes a huge hit when, whilst working the late-late night shift with Joe, she panics and locks herself in the freezer when a youth bursts into the restaurant demanding nuggets.

Mary and Joe are working the last shift of the day when a hoodie bursts in and demands some nuggets. Mary locks herself in the freezer, leaving Joe to handle the attacker alone.

Mary calls a staff meeting to try to motivate everyone following the attack, but the staff are clearly unimpressed. She confesses to Derek that she feels she has lost the respect of her team and he suggests that she falls on her own sword and quits.

Mary announces her leaving with a big public speech to the team, which backfires when no one begs her to stay.

In the wake of Joe's inadvertent heroism on the night of the attack, Ed has hatched a plan to use it to get Joe closer to Amara. He brags about Joe's bravery and self defence skills. It works and Amara seems vaguely impressed...
