Tom Latimer, a hard-working G.P., has just come through a rather unpleasant and expensive divorce. His ex-wife, Helen, has the very large and lovely house while he lives in a flat. To make matters worse he even has to pay her rent to use his surgery. The last thing he needs is his father, Toby, a Harley Street dermatologist, announcing that he needs a place to stay because he has fallen out with Tom's mother.
