A special guest is drinking in The Fiddler's Arms - renowned theatrical impresario Dame Eliza Vestris. Eliza has a problem, if she doesn't find a new child sharpish for one of her lead roles then the show cannot go ahead and they're due to open in only a few days. All available children with a theatrical bent have been mysteriously traumatized, some say by a rogue phantom. Overhearing this from under a pub table, Dodger's mind starts to whir as he swipes a script from the Dame's bag. Dodger comes up with an ingenious plan to rob the haunted theatre.
