Further details

There's concern in Portwenn that local radio presenter Caroline Bosman has a drink problem. She's been heard slurring her words during her broadcasts, and she's been seen driving erratically. Her marriage to Tom is on the rocks because of her strange behaviour.

Martin calls Caroline to the surgery to see if he can discover whether she is alcoholic. But she's so angry she refuses to stay long enough for any tests. Martin decides to report her erratic driving to PC Mark Mylow, and suggests he should make her take a breath test. He's worried she is a danger to herself and other road users.

Soon, it's not just Doctor Ellingham who've noticed Caroline's behaviour. Louisa too has become increasingly worried about her old friend, but her concerns are equally angrily dismissed.

Meanwhile, elderly local resident Vernon Cooke has come into the surgery because people have started to complain he smells. Sure enough, Martin and Pauline are horrified by the odour that pours into the building with him. Can the doc's tests come up trumps and find the cause of the overpowering whiff?
