Louisa is shocked and Martin suspicious by the unannounced return of her father. Ruth is helping Martin with his blood phobia when she discovers his predicament, and an unexpected caravan squatter thwarts Bert's dreams of making a quick buck.

Louisa is shocked when she finds her father, Terry Glasson making a cup of tea in their kitchen. Having not seen him in years, she can't help but be suspicious of the real reason he is back in Portwenn.

Martin goes to see Ruth about the surprises she's been leaving him to test his blood phobia, but she has her own surprise concerning Terry...

Meanwhile, Bert is diversifying and has plans to produce Large Whisky on site when a customer makes him an offer he cannot refuse - to buy one of his vintage caravans. But there's a squatter, Ross, living in the vintage caravan, and he isn't going anywhere. Bert calls PC Penhale for assistance, but Penhale's mind is on Janice, especially after Al says he's acting too keen.
