After 18 years and 79 episodes, international hit comedy drama Doc Martin has concluded - and a complete DVD box set is available from 13th February 2023.
Featuring the Martin Clunes character that originated in 2000-released feature film Saving Grace, the ITV1 comedy has delighted millions over the course of its run and looks set to do the same for new viewers for quite some time to come.
Co-starring Caroline Catz, Stephanie Cole, Eileen Atkins, Ian McNeice, Joe Absolom, Selina Cadell and John Marquez amongst others - not to mention a wide range of brilliant guest stars, including Caroline Quentin, Julie Graham and Hollywood icon Sigourney Weaver, the much-loved series is set in the sleepy Cornish fishing port of Portwenn, following its inhabitants and somewhat grumpy GP, Doctor Martin Ellingham.
Originally a high-flying vascular surgeon in London, the series begins as Ellingham restarts his life as a family doctor on the Cornwall coast, having developed a rather unfortunate phobia of blood. However, his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired, and coupled with the locals' natural suspicion of any strange incomer, he takes quite a while to settle in.
Eventually finding love with local schoolteacher Louisa, the ten series follow Martin and his new family, not to mention the other Portwenn natives and visitors alike, as he finds his way in the community, proves his irascible brilliance, and comes up against more than one or two challenges.
Released by Acorn Media, the Complete Series One To Ten box set is available to order now. Comprising 21 discs and almost 62 hours of viewing time, it includes all specials, as well as the final conculding documentary programme celebrating the show's history.
