As ITV1's hit comedy drama Doc Martin[/h] returns for a second series, ITV3 viewers are treated to an access-all-areas documentary, filmed on set in the Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac. The real-life village doubles as Portwenn, home to the truculent GP, played by the ever popular Martin Clunes. Caroline Catz continues in her role as school teacher Louisa Glasson and there are plenty of twists in store in their will-they-won't they relationship.
Cameras were allowed behind-the-scenes this summer to give an insight into the making of this beautifully scenic location drama. The documentary features extended interviews with Clunes and Catz plus many more of the high-profile cast. As well as providing sneak previews of what we can expect from the new series, the documentary will also offer a rare glimpse into the close rapport built up between cast, crew and Port Isaac locals.
There's a look at the logistics of filming an entire series in a tiny historical fishing village; how the cast attempt to master the Cornish accent; the inspiration behind the intriguing medical storylines and all the elements involved in making a hit ITV drama.
