Dear Mother.... ....Love Albert

Dear Mother.... ....Love Albert

In between major successes in The Likely Lads series, Rodney Bewes also became the star of this ratings-winning sitcom chronicling the misfortunes of a naïve young man from the north of England who moves to London in search of fame and fortune.

Dear Mother...Love Albert was co-written and produced by Bewes, and based on the actor's own letters home, in which less-than-impressive details were omitted and triumphs wildly exaggerated; Bewes also sung the show's theme song, which he co-wrote with songwriter and musician Mike Hugg. Dear Mother...Love Albert also features Garfield Morgan as Albert's boss, Mr Strain, and Geraldine Newman as his landlady.

Unfortunately, the first series of Dear Mother...Love Albert no longer exists in the archives. However, the second, third - and fourth, retitled Albert! - do, and are released in this 3-disc, 20-episode set.

First released: Monday 14th June 2010

Not in the UK?

Fear not! Many items can still be ordered. Amazon in the UK delivers to many international territories, whilst their Australia, USA and Canada stores also supply many equivalent or imported items.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
