Hi-De-Hi! was one of the most successful sitcoms of the 1980s. It ran for nine series with regular audiences of 16 million, winning a BAFTA for Best Comedy Series in 1984.
This documentary pays tribute to the show. Over 90 minutes, it tells the story of this much-loved sitcom - showing classic scenes and interviewing cast and crew as we learn the show's secrets.
We discover that Butlin's, the real-life inspiration for the series, was not impressed with the show. We find out how iconic characters like Ted Bovis and Gladys Pugh were cast - and how cleaner and wannabe yellowcoat Peggy was brought to life by Su Pollard.
We also discover backstage secrets, such as the day several cast members nearly drowned in the swimming pool, and Su Pollard tells us the very rude word she taught the pet parrot at the cast hotel.
