Mr Khan goes back to school
Birmingham's famous community leader, Mr Khan went back to school today (2nd November 2016).
Citizen Khan star Adil Ray surprised pupils at Yardley Primary School, the place he attended himself back in the 1980s, by turning up as his famous sitcom character. In a special assembly, the kids quizzed him about what Mr Khan was like in his own school days.
Speaking after the event Mr Khan, said: "Thank you to Yardley Primary School who have agreed to use my book and show as part of their curriculum. Very clever teachers."
Meanwhile Adil Ray, who is set to pick up an OBE on Friday 11th November for his services to broadcasting, says: "It was really special to go back to my old school and meet some of the young pupils who are such big fans of Citizen Khan."
Head teacher Gaynor Moore comments: "Yardley Primary School is very proud that the incredibly successful Adil Ray is a former pupil. Our pupils were thrilled to see Mr Khan. It was the most entertaining assembly ever according to Year 5 and 6 pupils and staff!"
