Character guide

Brotherhood. Dan (Ben Ashenden). Copyright: Big Talk Productions

Dan

AKA: Dan Bennett.  Receptionist.   Played by: Ben Ashenden

Dan, the elder of the brothers at 25 years of age, is an uptight ball of neuroticism.

He is a sarcastic joker, and is forever trying to get the upper hand on his live wire work colleague Poppy.

Brotherhood. Toby (Johnny Flynn). Copyright: Big Talk Productions

Toby

AKA: Toby Bennett.  Played by: Johnny Flynn

Scruffy 23 year-old Toby is described as a "naïve sweetheart". Alongside his uptight brother Dan, he is looking after his little brother Jamie. Well, sort of.

Toby is as laid back as you can be, and has an eye for the ladies. He is hoping to get together with Jamie's gorgeous school teacher Miss Pemberton.

Brotherhood. Jamie (Scott Folan). Copyright: Big Talk Productions

Jamie

AKA: Jamie Bennett.  Played by: Scott Folan

13 year old Jamie hasn't said a word since his mother died.

He is now being looked after by his brothers, but they're not the best of carers in the world. Their polar opposite parenting styles constantly clash, with Jamie stuck in the middle.

Brotherhood. Miss Pemberton (Gemma Chan). Copyright: Big Talk Productions

Miss Pemberton

AKA: Amy Pemberton.  Teacher.   Played by: Gemma Chan

Miss Pemberton teaches Jamie at school.

She is very good looking - something that has not escaped the attention of Toby! But they've already done things, ahem, the wrong way around. Now can he get her to agree to go on a date?

Brotherhood. Poppy (Ellie Taylor). Copyright: Big Talk Productions

Poppy

Journalist.   Played by: Ellie Taylor

Poppy is a magazine journalist and Dan's work colleague. She is quite a live-wire... will Dan ever win in their battles?

Brotherhood. Auntie Debbie (Sarah Hadland). Copyright: Big Talk Productions

Auntie Debbie

Played by: Sarah Hadland

Meddling Auntie Debbie feels she should have, rightfully, been given custody of young Jamie, and so in fact seems more concerned with his welfare and upbringing than with that of her own son, Christopher!

She's often dropping around to the boys' flat to criticise Toby and Dan's parenting skills, but on occasion does save the day when they come a little bit unstuck.
